A Blue and White Porcelain ’Ladies and Children’ Vase and Cover Of inverted baluster form, rising from a spreading foot to a tapering shoulder set with a straight neck, painted in shades of underglaze blue with a terraced garden landscape scene of children playing among elegant ladies by plantain and rockwork, swirling clouds overhead, the neck with an array of beribboned emblems, the glazed base with a double circle, the domed cover with a wide rim and surmounted by a knob finial, further decorated with playing boys.
