A Chinese Famille Rose ’Medallion’ Bowl The deep rounded sides supported on a narrow straight foot rising to a gently everted rim, the exterior finely enamelled with three circular reserves enclosing antiques, flowers, millet and lanterns between sprays of ’lotus scroll’ intertwining ruyi and bats, all against a pink famille rose ground, meander band around the foot in shades of blue enamel, the interior painted in underglaze blue with four stylized scrolled cloud sprays alternating with birds in flight at the cavetto, the well with a central medallion presenting the story of the ’Cowherd and the Weaver Girl’, the base with a seal mark of Daoguang in underglaze blue but later.
