A PAIR OF CHINESE WUCAI VASES AND COVERS-1/2

A Pair of Chinese Wucai Vases and Covers Of baluster form, the sides sweeping from a flat circular base to a wide shoulder set with a short, slightly everted neck, decorated in bright wucai enamels, painted with a continuous scene of bannermen riding and leading horses through a terraced landscape of tall rocks and swirling clouds towards two officials playing weiqi, flanked by young attendants and ladies in robes, the neck with sprays of bamboo, chrysanthemum and peony issuing from rockwork, the domed cover with a knop finial, similarly decorated with officials in a terraced garden among rockwork, also with plantain and a triangle patterned rim.
